Musick-al note # 110
If we were left to our own devices none could enter the kingdom of God for all men are sinners. Paul said in Romans 3:23, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. There is only one end to those who remain in sin and that is spiritual death (Ezekiel 18:4, Romans 6:23). We can all give thanks to God for sending Jesus, His Son into the world who paid the debt of death for all sin in order to ransom every person who has sinned (1 Timothy 2:6). Jesus rose from the dead and is now at the right hand of God and offers eternal life to all who obey Him (Hebrews 5:8-9). By obeying Christ Jesus we can have our sins forgiven in His blood (Ephesians 1:7). Our sins are washed away in baptism (Acts 22:16) when we obey the Gospel. Paul said in Romans 6:17-18 “But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.” Peter said in 1 Peter 1:18-19 “knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” Redemption is given to man through the blood of Christ Jesus, the perfect sacrifice for sin. He will save all people who obey Him. ‘Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered and having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him”. (Hebrews 5:8-9). In obeying the Gospel we put on Christ and become a child of God (Galatians 3:26-27). We are also added to His church at the same time (Acts 2:47)..
