Musick-al note: # 79
God is the giver of salvation. He alone has the right to say how any man or every man may be saved. In John 3:16 it is written, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God’s great gift of His Son for the salvation of man is the basis of his saving man. Peter said in Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” If there is salvation in no other than Jesus, then every man must enter into Christ Jesus to be saved. Paul said in Galatians 3:26-27 “For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” Putting on Christ through the waters of Baptism makes one a child of God. When one is baptized (puts on Christ) his sins are forgiven and he becomes a servant of God. Romans 6:17-18 “But God be thanked that <though> you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. Being then made free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.” Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. What shall we say then, can man follow just any way he desires and expect salvation from God? No! For if God spared not his only Son for our salvation, how could we look for another to save us? Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Look again at Acts 4:12. Everyone who desires salvation must come to Jesus who is the Christ, the Son of God. Everyone who is in Christ must continue to live in Christ obedient to His will. There is no other way!
